The deputy mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich has urged successful Ghanaians to make philanthropy a top priority.
According to councillor Dr. Dominic Mbang, in order to bring development to the doorsteps of the populace, it is essential for people to give back to the communities from which they originate.
Councilor Mbang says that he had to renovate Kuka-Zuli Primary School, which was built by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's government, in what might be described as walking the talk.
He stated that the building had turned into a death trap for students and teachers and that his choice to rebuild the school was a charitable act.
He was speaking at the National Union of Kusaug Students' congress at Bugri Corner, a suburb of Bawku Municipality of the Upper East Region.
The Congress brought together students from the Kusaug belt-area with the ultimate goal of empowering and motivating them to maintain their focus, remain calm, and learn how to realize their dreams.
The good people of the Kusaug Traditional Area were urged by Councilor Mbang to live in harmony and peace.
For his part, Prof. George Agbango, a former lawmaker from the Zebilla Constituency who is currently a senior professor at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in the United States of America, reaffirmed the urgency of encouraging young people to persevere in all spheres of life.
He also emphasized the importance of the youth helping each other out.
Prof. Agbango continued, "Education is the key to success," and he urged all parents and other interested parties to make sure that every child attends school.
Students from the various universities in Ghana from all over Kusaug attended the congress.
