Celebrity fashion designer Elikem Kumordzi, popularly known as Elikem The Tailor, has revealed going global with his craft is his goal.
In an interview with JoyNews’ Becky, he said that his focus is breaking the international fashion barriers and ensuring the world gets to know about his unique designs.
“I have come a long way, I feel like I could have been better, we all procrastinate at a point in our lives but we pick ourselves up quickly. However I’m grateful for my milestone, I have been in business for a little over ten years and I can still see my big dreams."
"They say dream so big you can’t have an ego. My ego is in check, and I am only one per cent away from where I want to be. I want to be global, I want to be worldwide, I want every country to have a piece of my clothing like the Zara of Africa,” Elikem Kumordzie noted.
He added that he is not backing down anytime soon considering how he started the fashion business.
“I found the craft out of adversity. They say when a man is in adversity, he finds himself. I was at the University of Ghana and couldn’t pay my tuition going to level 400. I deferred my course, came home, and started making clothes for myself and others liked it."
