A private legal practitioner with the Kimathi and Partners Corporate Attorneys has highlighted the importance of supporting persons with disabilities and vulnerable in society.
According to Sefako Kuenyehia Esq, a country that doesn’t help its vulnerable always lag behind in terms of development.
He said this when Kimathi and Partners, Corporate Attorneys presented a book grant and an undisclosed amount of money to 39 students with disability at the University of Ghana to facilitate their learning in the institution.
“Personally, I believe a society that doesn’t take care of its vulnerable; people with disabilities, the widows, and the mentally disabled can ever develop.
“This is because they are part of us. They are part of the collective, the whole of us cannot move one direction and our leg is moving in another direction. We all ought to move together,” he said.
In view of that, he called on all and sundry to readily assist the vulnerable in society to imp rove their lives.
To the beneficiaries, Mr Kuenyehia Esq urged them to remain resolute in achieving their ambition despite the challenges.
“Don’t doubt yourselves, some abled people were unable to pass the BECE [Basic Education Certificate Examination] or even make it to the university. But with all the challenges you are here.
“Remain focused because this is only the foundation, you can go higher. There is nothing you cannot do,” he said.
