Team Ghana started their Accra 2023 Para Games on an outstanding note after recording an emphatic 7-0 win over Uganda in their opening game at the UPSA Astroturf Stadium on Monday evening.
Ghana ensured they had very little work to do in the second half when they stomped to a 7-goal lead in the first 45 minutes; Hamza Mohammed and Ussif Yaya both grabbed a hat trick while teammate Mubarak Mohammed added another to wrap up the scoreline and seal a convincing victory for Ghana.

The win ensures Ghana occupies the top spot in Group A compounded with a healthy goal difference going into their second group fixture.
Ghana’s next two group-stage games will be against Liberia and Morocco, with the host nation needing just one more victory to book a place in the knockout stage as they continue to hunt for medals in the first-ever African Para games.
Speaking after the game, the head coach for the Ghana National Amputee Football team, Stephen Richard Obeng, said, “It feels great. We are all excited about the victory. I want to tell Ghanaians to continue to support and pray for us. We have some games to still play.”
