A Bishop of Action Chapel International, Isaac Clive Mould has admonished Christians not to lose Christ during the celebration of Christmas.

He pointed out that amid the festive celebrations, our hearts are naturally filled with excitement and warmth of fellowship making it easier to lose sight of the true reason of the occasion – the birth of Christ.

He said “The very essence of Christmas lies in the humble arrival of God’s greatest gift to humanity. Yet amid glittering light, cheerful carols and gift exchanges, there is a danger we must acknowledge - the danger of losing Jesus in Christmas itself.”

Taking his scripture from Luke chapter 2 verses 41 to 44 during his exaltation at the Joy FM Nine Lessons and Carols on Sunday, December 17, he said the story of Mary and Joseph losing Jesus in Jerusalem serves as a poignant reminder for us all.

“It is my prayer that we will all avoid that danger of coming together but we would not know what we are looking for …It is my prayer that in all your doings, remember that Christ is the reason for the season,” he said.

Speaking on the theme: “the danger of losing Christ in Christmas”, Bishop Mould noted that if the reason for the season is not appreciated, it might be impossible to achieve an individual’s accomplishments.

As a result, he encouraged Christians to navigate away from the difficulties commonly associated with the holiday season, likening it to the brief separation experienced by Mary and Joseph from Jesus. He underscored the importance of making a deliberate and conscious effort to journey alongside Jesus throughout this Christmas season.

During the Christmas celebration, he urged Christians to be vigilant about their intentions and behaviours, aligning them with the teachings of God.

He emphasised the importance of monitoring their words, assessing the outcomes of their actions, and staying attuned to their relationship with the Lord.

“Joy FM, next year is going to be powerful because you have acknowledged Jesus,” he prayed.
