The Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has commended the efforts of the media in the successful organisation of the 2023 African Games.
The Games, was for the first time, held in Ghana raising expectations from the rest of the countries on the continent.
An enthralling three-week experience came to an end on Saturday, March 23, with the closing ceremony held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
According to the Minister, the role of both the local and international media was key to delivering an unforgettable experience to the rest of the world.
"We are also here to thank the media both local and international for the outstanding coverage that you gave to us throughout the journey," he said during a press briefing on Monday, March 25.
"Not only during the games, we started this journey together with you. During our difficult times, you critiqued us and gave us suggestions.
"You shaped us to get what we have achieved today and we cannot leave without thanking you for the good work done."
Ghana recorded its highest medal tally at the African Games with 69 won while Egypt (192), Nigeria (121) and South Africa (106) made the top three.
Team Ghana finished in sixth place.
