Accra Lions midfielder Emmanuel Dzigbah underwent a meniscus repair treatment on Tuesday, April 23, in Belgrade, Serbia.
The promising Ghanaian youngster has been out injured since December 2023 featuring for 23 minutes in the Lions' 3-1 defeat to Samartex in the Ghana Premier League.
The midfielder midfielder has been one of the club's best performers this season with his drawer possessing a brilliant display against defending league champions Medeama, a performance which saw him win his first Man of the Match award in their first away victory of the 2023/24 season.
The surgery, however, will leave Dzigbah out on the sidelines until he sees full recovery.
Accra Lions in an official statement on their social media pages announced success in his surgery.
The club's Chairman, Oliver Koenig, highlighted their commitment to the welfare of players and satisfaction with Dzigbah’s surgery.

"As a club, we are responsible for providing our players with the best possible medical care. In Emmanuel's case, we were advised by our Ghanaian doctors to seek treatment abroad due to the complexity of the injury. We are very pleased that the surgery went well and that we will see him back on the pitch very soon," he said.
Accra Lions will face Hearts of Oak on week 28 of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday, 27th April, 2024 at the Accra Sports Stadium with firm hopes of taking all three points.
Both teams sit 6th and 11th respectively on the league table.
