The Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has described the 2024 mid-year budget as uninspiring and hopeless.
Dr Ato Forson who is also the Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, criticised the Akufo-Addo administration for what he sees as a consistent pattern of ineffective governance.
On Tuesday, July 23, Finance Minister Mohammed Amin Adam presented the 2024 mid-year budget review before Parliament.
In his address, Dr. Amin Adam assured that the government is committed to staying within its budgetary allocations.

Dr. Amin Adam reaffirmed the government's dedication to maintaining budgetary control.
However, Dr. Ato Forson, addressing the media in Parliament shortly after the presentation, urged Ghanaians to brace for more hardship.
He argued that the government missed an opportunity to alleviate economic burdens by failing to abolish certain taxes that could have provided relief to both citizens and businesses.
Dr. Forson insisted that more could have been done to cushion the public during these challenging times.
"This mid-year review leaves many people disappointed and uninspired. It gives no hope to hope to the ordinary Ghanaian that anything will be done to change the unbearable hardships that confront the people of Ghana."
"In the last eight (8) years, Akufo-Addo and Bawumia have burdened Ghanaian businesses and individuals with high tax regime, he stated.
