Seasoned Human Resource (HR) professional Mr Augustine Appiah, who leads HR and Administration at the Bulk Energy Storage and Transportation (BOST) Company Limited has been named the Transformational HR Personality of the Year at the 4th National Governance & Business Leadership Awards 2024 in Accra.
This prestigious recognition by the Governance & Business Boardroom highlights Mr Appiah's significant contributions to the Human Capital Management Industry, particularly within BOST. His efforts in promoting diversity and inclusion, creating equal opportunities, and promoting teamwork have been remarkable and widely recognized.
In his current role, Mr Appiah has been a driving force behind the BOST Transformation agenda over the past three years, transitioning the company from a loss-making position to consistent year-on-year profitability in 2021, and 2022, and continuing strong. His culture and mindset-change initiatives have been hailed as the catalyst for the company's improved fortunes.
This latest accolade adds to Mr Appiah’s impressive list of previous honours, including being named HR Leader of the Decade and one of the Top 20 Influential HR Business Leaders across industries in Ghana at the 3rd Governance and Business Leadership Awards.
Alongside Mr Appiah's recognition, BOST was also celebrated as the Best Organization in the Learning & Development Initiative. This award underscores the company's commitment to employee growth and continuous improvement.
The National Governance & Business Leadership Awards, developed by The Governance & Business Boardroom, is a C-level high-impact programme that celebrates good corporate governance, leadership, economic empowerment, and job creation in Ghana.
As the head of HR and Administration, Mr Appiah's responsibilities include implementing corporate strategies, managing staffing and labour relations, and overseeing training, compensation, change management, organizational effectiveness, and HR governance.
A graduate of the University of Ghana–Legon, Mr Appiah holds a B.A. in Psychology with Political Science and an MPhil in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. His credentials extend to international institutions, including the College of Executive Coaching (USA), IMD Business School (Switzerland), INSEAD (France), and Harvard Business School, where he completed C-Suite programs in HR Excellence, Business Strategy for HR Leaders, and Driving Corporate Performance.
Mr Appiah’s distinguished career spans various companies, including Unilever Ghana Limited, exZeed Company Limited, Ghana Telecom, Vodafone Ghana Limited, and Vodafone Group PLC.
