The Deputy Wenchi Constituency Secretary for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Uthman Yakubu Bamba, has called on Ghanaians to consider the December 7 polls as a day of freedom, redemption and liberation from the shackles of poverty and the present socio-economic hardship visited on them by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under President Akuffo Addo.
He assured Ghanaians that a vote for the NDC and former President John Mahama at the December 7 polls is a vote for themselves since the party is there for all Ghanaians.
Mr Bamba said this on the sidelines of the flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama’s campaign visit to Wenchi in the Bono region.

He argued that Ghanaians will not only be doing good to themselves but will be voting for a selfless, humble, dedicated and knowledgeable leadership as compared to the arrogant and selfish personalities of the NPP.
According to him, the NPP used lies, intimidation and deception to win power and has used the same tactics to render the majority of ordinary Ghanaians powerless, poor and vulnerable.
The Deputy Wenchi Constituency Secretary, therefore, urged Ghanaians not to give in to the lies, deception and vain promises being made by the NPP led by their flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to further deepen their economic woes.
He said the only way Ghanaians could ensure that the NPP does not retain power and cover up their bad performance and corruption is for the people to police the various polling stations effectively.
"This will ensure that the NPP and their agents cannot carry out any dubious means to win the elections,” Mr Bamba stressed.

He urged all Ghanaians, especially NDC supporters, to stay at their various polling stations after casting their votes until the ballots get counted for the winner to be declared, adding, "You must further follow up with the collation centres to ensure that rigging will not take place".
“I also urge the electorate not to allow the NPP to use both monetary and material things to buy their votes or to induce them to vote for them to continue with their divide-and-rule tactics while they enrich themselves and their cohorts at the expense of the broader masses," he pointed out.
He lamented the current economic hardship of Ghanaians under the reign of President Akuffo Addo and Vice President Dr Bawmia.

"The NPP has bastardised former President Mahama's administration, accusing him of incompetence, but the current situation under them is nothing good," Mr Bamba added.
He noted that the NPP had forgotten that every part of the country got electricity, potable water, regional and district hospitals, and others under the 19-year rule of the PNDC and NDC.
He called on Ghanaians to reject the NPP and vote massively for the NDC at the polls since they have failed to deliver.
