The National Democratic Congress (NDC) aspirant for Old Tafo/Pankrono constituency, has filed his nomination for the upcoming election, seeking to contest for the second time.
Sahmudeen Mohammed Kamil who contested in the 2020 election emphasized the need for change at both parliamentary and presidential levels, outlining strategies to attract more supporters and secure a historic NDC win in the constituency.
The aspiring MP outlined his policy agenda, focusing on empowering his electorate. Key initiatives include the establishment of a scholarship fund to support education, and the creation of an endowment fund to boost entrepreneurship.
He stated that the endowment fund will provide interest-free loans to startups and Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), featuring a three-month Grace period before the first payment is due.
He further stressed the importance of setting up a dedicated Member of Parliament's (MP) office in the constituency. This, he believes will bridge the gap between leadership and the people, ensuring more accessible representation.
In a related development, the constituency campaign team recently launched its campaign to appeal to residents to consider their current challenges and hardships, among other issues, and vote for the NDC to bring about change.
At the campaign event, a series of speakers took the stage to outline the NDC's policy agenda for the upcoming elections. They emphasised the party's plans to address the country's challenges and improve the lives of Ghanaians.
The speakers also cautioned voters against being swayed by the ruling New Patriotic Party's (NPP) empty promises, characterising them as deceptive and potentially worsening the nation's current difficulties.
