The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has emerged as the triumphant champions of the 2024 JoySports Invitational Tournament, held at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday, 26th October.
With unmatched energy and skill, NPA took home four gold medals, proving unstoppable in the men’s and women’s table tennis, lawn tennis, and men’s Tug of Peace events, securing their well-deserved top position in the 15-discipline corporate sports extravaganza.
Following closely were debutants ARB Apex Bank, with an impressive presence across Ghana with over 147 branches and eight million customers, as well as logistics powerhouse, Sapholda Ventures. ARB Apex Bank shone with three gold medals in the women’s Tug of Peace, the women’s 5km race walk (50.34), and chess. They also captured silver in the men’s table tennis and bronze in the men’s race walk (38.27s), tallying five medals in a debut that promises a bright future in the tournament.
Sapholda Ventures also made a remarkable impact, capturing gold in the women’s 100m final, the women’s sack race, and the women’s penalty shootout. Adding to their collection, they claimed silver in the women’s table tennis and bronze in the women’s 100m final (15.22s), with standout athlete Belinda Ntiamoah taking bronze in the women’s 100m and triumphing in the women’s penalty shootout.
In other events, Jetlink Flight Support dominated Scrabble, while hosts Multimedia Group triumphed in Armwrestling. Escort Security powered through the swimming event, followed closely by Multichoice Ghana, who also showcased their gaming prowess to win the E-sports competition.
McDan Group made waves with their Volleyball victory, while Piwak Natural Health proudly clinched the men’s 5km race walk. Cosa-Bright Company Limited, newcomers specialising in civil engineering and electrical works, stole the spotlight by winning the football tournament.
Bringing infectious enthusiasm to the tournament, Adansi Travels were crowned Team Spirit champions, providing an unforgettable atmosphere and proving that their spirit is second to none.
With every participant bringing their best, the 2024 JoySports Invitational has once again set the bar for corporate sports excellence in Ghana.
