Vivo Energy Ghana, distributers and marketers of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants, in partnership with HR Focus Universe, a human resources agency, has hosted the second edition of its ShePower Campus Mentorship Programme at the Accra Girls’ Senior High School in Accra.
This impactful initiative is part of the company’s broader commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion by empowering young women to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields and aspire to leadership roles.
The ShePower Campus Mentorship Programme is designed to encourage young girls in Senior High Schools to explore courses and careers in STEM, where women are traditionally underrepresented.

Through this initiative, Vivo Energy Ghana aims to "Fuel Change" by creating opportunities for mentorship and guidance that will leave a lasting impact on the lives of female students.
The event began with an engaging presentation on Vivo Energy Ghana’s operations, core values, and the pivotal role of women within the organisation. This served as a platform to showcase career opportunities in STEM and inspire the students to dream big.
Following the presentation, an all-female panel discussion, featuring accomplished professionals from Vivo Energy Ghana, shared personal success stories, challenges, and actionable mentorship advice tailored to encourage students to explore STEM pathways with confidence.
Participants interacted with the panellists, raising questions about career choices, overcoming barriers, and how mentorship can guide them toward achieving their aspirations.

The discussion provided valuable insights, emphasising the significance of resilience, continuous learning, and collaboration.
“Through ShePower, we aim to equip young girls with the knowledge and inspiration to challenge societal norms and pursue careers in STEM. It’s all about fuelling change and building a brighter, more inclusive future.” said Shirley Tony Kum, Corporate Communications Manager of Vivo Energy Ghana.
This mentorship tour reflects Vivo Energy Ghana’s dedication to advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and nurturing the next generation of female leaders.
The ShePower initiative continues to make a significant impact, leaving lasting impressions on students across the country. Vivo Energy Ghana remains committed to promoting diversity and inclusion, fostering a culture where young girls can thrive, innovate, and lead.
