In a world where integrity, honesty, transparency, and inclusivity often seem overshadowed, we have recently witnessed in the Ghana elections a stirring — a great awakening.
This awakening calls our hearts, souls, and minds back to the principles of God, urging us to embrace love for one another and prioritize the greater good of society and our nation above what has publicly been called “corruption, nepotism, arrogance of power, poor governance, state capture, incompetent leadership and insensitivity.”
As we reflect on this transformative moment, let’s turn to the Scriptures for guidance and inspiration.
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws." Ezekiel 36:26-27
"And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed." Romans 13:11
In Isaiah 60:1 we read: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you."
As we contemplate these verses, let us ask ourselves: Are we allowing the Spirit of God to awaken us? Are we willing to shed our old ways and embrace a heart of flesh, one that beats in rhythm with divine love and responsibility?
In this awakening, we discover our purpose — to become lights in a world that desperately needs hope and grace. Each of us has a role to play in advocating for integrity, honesty, and inclusivity. As we arise and shine, let us inspire others to do the same, fostering a community that exemplifies God's love. Let us go forth from this devotional renewed and resolved. In this great awakening, may we embody the principles of God and shine brightly in a world longing for hope and healing.
Prayer:
Our Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the gift of awakening, for stirring our hearts and calling us back to You. Help us to open our eyes to the needs around us, to the ways we can love and serve one another. Fill us with Your Spirit, giving us new hearts that reflect Your compassion and truth.
Guide us to embrace integrity, honesty, and transparency in our lives. May we be bold in advocating for inclusivity, allowing Your light to shine through us. As we reflect on Your Word, ignite a passion within us to arise and take action.
Let this awakening ripple through our communities and our nation, touching lives and drawing people closer to You. We pray for wisdom, strength, and courage for our new leadership and each citizen, as we walk in Your light and share Your love.
In Jesus’ name, we pray,
Amen
