President John Mahama has reassured business leaders and entrepreneurs of his administration’s commitment to fostering a thriving and inclusive business environment.
In his inaugural speech, Mr Mahama stressed Ghana’s readiness to welcome investments and support innovative enterprises.
“Ghana is open for business again,” Mahama declared on Tuesday, January 7.
The President’s comments come as Ghana seeks to re-establish itself as a competitive destination for investments amid global economic challenges.
He also invited business leaders and entrepreneurs "to support this new model and join me in shaping a business environment where creativity thrives, and where the fruits of your investments contribute to the collective welfare of our nation.”
Highlighting the pivotal role of the business community in driving Ghana’s economic recovery and growth, he acknowledged their innovation and dedication as essential components of the country’s success.
“Your role in driving our economy forward cannot be overstated. Your innovation and dedication will be the backbone of our success story,” he said.
President Mahama also pledged to review and rationalise Ghana’s tax regime to ensure fairness, transparency, and support for businesses.
He underscored the need for policies that foster sustainable growth and create opportunities for entrepreneurs to flourish.
“I pledge to you that we would look at the tax regime and rationalise them so that they are more transparent and fair,” he assured.
