Legon Cities will host Dreams FC at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in a pivotal Matchday-17 Ghana Premier League clash.
The Royals are battling relegation,, sitting at the bottom of the table with only 11 points from 16 games. They are currently on a winless run struggling to score and keep clean sheets. Their last victory came on Matchweek 11 against Basake Holy Stars, a win that feels like a distant memory considering the team’’s poor streak.
A managerial change saw Joachim Yaw Acheampong replace Paa Kwasi Fabin, but the team fell short in his debut match, losing to Hearts of Oak despite showing signs of improvement. However, Coach Acheampong remains optimistic about ending the first round on a positive note.
Dreams FC, currently 14th on the table, head into this encounter with renewed confidence after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Accra Lions. The “Still Believe” boys are keen to exploit Legon Cities’ poor form and climb further up the standings.
However, history favors the Royals, who have won three of the last five meetings against Dreams FC, with the remaining two ending in draws.
