In a heartwarming display of kindness and generosity, Dr. Mike Amofa Dankwah, a renowned philanthropist, has stepped forward to renovate the dilapidated classrooms of the Agona Duakwa A.E.D.A KG/Primary 'A' School.
This noble gesture comes after the Kobby Kyei News team brought attention to the deplorable conditions of the school, highlighting the poor teaching and learning environment.
The Kobby Kyei News team's initial visit to the school five days ago exposed the dire state of the classrooms, which posed a significant challenge to the students' learning experience.
However, the report did not go unnoticed, as it caught the attention of Dr. Mike Amofa Dankwah, who was moved to take action.
On January 22, 2025, Dr. Dankwah visited the Agona Duakwa Basic School to inspect the facility and assess the extent of the renovation required.
He visited chief of the town, Nana Kojo Amuakwa V to express his willingness to help renovate the school building and after a beautiful conversation, the chief appreciated Dr. Amofa’s gesture and assured him of unwavering support to ensure success of the project.
His willingness to take on the responsibility of renovating the school building is a testament to his commitment to improving the lives of the community, particularly the children.
Dr. Dankwah's philanthropic efforts are expected to bring significant relief to the students and teachers of the Agona Duakwa Basic School.
Headmaster of the school, Mr. George Maxwell Asante thanked Dr. Amofa for stepping in to help solve their long standing challenges which he said has been driving children away from the school.
Agona Duakwa A.E.D.A KG/Primary 'A' School according to the headmaster is one of the oldest basic schools in the country established in the year 1928 and seeing it in this state is very worrying.
The renovation of the classrooms will not only improve the physical learning environment but also boost the morale and motivation of the students, ultimately enhancing their academic performance.
The Kobby Kyei News team's role in highlighting the plight of the school and bringing it to the attention of Dr. Dankwah demonstrates the power of journalism in driving positive change.

He a is Public Health Specialist, Health Policy Analyst, Medical Practitioner (Physician), Political Enthusiast, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist with about 12 years’ experience in diverse settings with passionate background in primary healthcare, monitoring and evaluation, clinical auditing, quality assurance, data science and management, research, strategic health planning, financial solicitation, monitoring and evaluation, and public administration with strong values built on principles of social medicine and client satisfaction.
Dr Amofa have demonstrable competence in efficient organization management with multiple projects innovation and health care management.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Presbyterian University, Ghana), Masters in Medicine (from School of Medicine, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ukraine) Masters in Public Health with concentration in Health Services Planning and Management (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology) and PhD in Public Health (Azteca University, Mexico)
