Torgbui Akamu V, an aspirant for the Volta Region's Council of State slot, has urged the public to disregard publications that falsely accuse him of being involved in fraudulent activities.
In a press release issued by the chief’s communication unit, it was clarified that Torgbui Akamu V had "indeed intervened in the matter in question, but his intention was solely to broker peace and resolve a misunderstanding between two parties allegedly involved in the fraud."
The statement explained that, as the mediation process unfolded, it became clear that one of the parties was unwilling to settle the matter amicably.
As a result, Torgbui Akamu V decided to withdraw from the situation to avoid further complications. "We wish to categorically deny these allegations and set the record straight."
"As the mediation process developed, the parties involved deviated from their original positions, making it increasingly difficult for Torgbui Akamu V to continue facilitating a resolution. He was left with no choice but to withdraw from the process." the release emphasised.
The communication unit also highlighted that the accusations were part of a deliberate attempt by the aspirant's opponents to damage his reputation due to his ambition to become a member of the Council of State to represent the Volta region.
"It's unfortunate that these individuals have resorted to using the courts to tarnish Torgbui Akamu V's name, clearly motivated by his bid for the Council of State," the release stated.
The unit called on the public to disregard what they described as a "diabolical publication" with the contempt it deserves.
"Torgbui Akamu V remains a respected and dedicated leader, committed to serving his community and upholding the values of integrity and fairness," the statement concluded.

Torgbui Akamu V is allegedly facing legal action after being accused of failing to pay a significant sum in lotto winnings.'
According to news reports, the plaintiff, a lottery winner, claims to have won a large sum through a lotto business operated by a company associated with the chief but never received the prize, despite following all official procedures.
The complainant alleges that Torgbui Akamu V, who was responsible for distributing the winnings, has failed to honour the debt for several months.
The plaintiff has since published details of the case, demanding full payment from the chief.
