In a world where science and technology drive progress, the African Science Academy (ASA) stands as a beacon of hope, empowering young African women to become the continent’s future leaders in STEM.
Founded by the African Gifted Foundation, ASA is not just an educational institution but a transformative movement dedicated to bridging the gender gap in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Since its inception in 2016, ASA has provided world-class education, mentorship, and hands-on experience to over 150 brilliant young women from across Africa.
With a rigorous curriculum centred on Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Robotics, and Computer Programming, students receive the technical expertise needed to thrive in STEM fields.
However, the Academy’s mission extends beyond academics—students engage in guest speaker sessions, community service, club activities, and sports, nurturing leadership, creativity, and problem-solving skills essential for driving change in their communities.
ASA’s alumnae have gone on to study at prestigious universities worldwide on full scholarships, proving the institution’s commitment to excellence and opportunity.
The African Gifted Foundation also provides bursaries to support students in their home countries, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder access to quality STEM education.
Admission to ASA is highly competitive, with a selective intake of 50 students per cohort.
Eligible candidates must be female, aged 16-19, from an African country, and have excelled in Physics and Mathematics at the secondary school level. Fluency in English and a passion for STEM are also key requirements.
As ASA continues its mission to shape Africa’s future through education, the academy calls on aspiring young women to seize this life-changing opportunity.
Admissions are currently open for the 2025/2026 academic year. For more details on how to apply, visit www.africanscienceacademy.org/how-to-apply.
ASA is more than a school—it is a catalyst for change, equipping young African women with the skills and confidence to lead, innovate, and transform their communities for generations to come.
