President John Mahama on Monday, March 3, subtly downplayed a brief documentary that was played at the opening session of the National Economic Dialogue, highlighting his achievements and praises from citizens.
The documentary, which celebrated his time in office, showcased key milestones and the positive impact he made during his presidency, although the event is deemed a non-partisan activity with stakeholders expected to find solutions to Ghana's economic challenges.
As the film concluded during a brief break before the President's speech, he expressed his discomfort at seeing himself featured so prominently, leading to laughter from those in attendance.
“I was happy when that documentary ended, you can imagine how uncomfortable I was watching myself,” Mahama said, acknowledging the awkwardness of watching his own leadership moments on screen at such an event.
The documentary captured highlights of Mahama’s leadership, including major infrastructural projects, economic growth initiatives, and his commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaians.
The film also featured messages of appreciation from citizens, commending his efforts during his time in office.
