The Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has assured Ghanaians that the upcoming 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy will reflect many of the concerns raised by stakeholders during the National Economic Dialogue.
Speaking ahead of the budget presentation scheduled for March 11, Dr. Forson acknowledged the challenges in policy implementation but stressed the need for public support.
Dr. Forson further noted that input from stakeholders will play a critical role in shaping the budget, noting, "I will use the final communique as my guide in making recommendations to Cabinet for adoption and approval."
"Implementation is a challenge, but as a government, we can only succeed if we get the buy-in of the citizens. Most of the concerns you have raised will be addressed in the budget.
"However, the government cannot do it alone. We urge you to support us in educating the public so they understand that the time has come to reset and reform the economy," the Majority Leader stated.
He highlighted the interconnectedness between macroeconomic policies, the private sector, infrastructure, governance, and corruption, underscoring the need for major reforms.
"The solution is clear. We know the problems and what must be done to fix them. Now, we must begin implementation," he added.
The upcoming budget is expected to outline key reforms aimed at stabilizing the economy and driving growth.
