Operators of Maaha Beach Resort, a coastal retreat located in the Western Region have announced that no casualties or injuries were recorded during last Wednesday night’s unfortunate fire incident that gutted a row of buildings.
According to them, all guests and personnel present were promptly and efficiently evacuated to safety after the necessary emergency protocols were kicked into action.
“Management extends its deepest appreciation to the emergency responders and community members who assisted in containing the fire and ensuring the safety of everyone involved,” they stated in a press release.
They recount that the fire incident started at approximately 8:00 PM, and resulted in one row out of our 25 structures being razed down despite swift intervention by emergency services and our internal safety team.
Originating from another nearby hospitality facility, the blaze rapidly spread due to high directional coastal winds, affecting the block closest to the demarcating fence wall within close proximity to both premises.
With about 180 rooms currently available, operations remain unaffected and Maaha is open for business. Vacationers may continue to take advantage of the on-going ‘reduced rate promo’ which expires at the end of June 2025.
“The safety and well-being of our guests, staff, and community remain our utmost priority. Management remains steadfast, during this challenging time, resolved and focused on rebuilding.
Management remains committed to serving our guests with the same high standard of care and safety,” the release further indicates.
