The Overlord of Dagbon, His Royal Majesty Yaa Na Abukari Mahama II, has expressed unwavering support for President John Mahama’s vision to transform Ghana.
In a message delivered on his behalf by Dr Jacob Mahama during a courtesy call on the President on Friday, June 13, the traditional leader assured President Mahama of his commitment to collaborate closely in pursuit of national development.
"Mr. President, in your quest to transform Ghana, I want to assure you of my undivided and unfaltering support and collaboration," he said.
"As a traditional leader, I am committed to working c; closely with you to harness the collective energies of our young people, leveraging our rich cultural heritage and our traditional wisdom to drive national development. Together with us, the traditional leaders of Ghana, we can build a brighter future for Ghana where our citizens strive and reach their full potential," he added.
On his part, President Mahama said his administration will not sideline traditional authorities. According to him, he will prioritise them in decision-making and the quest to develop the country.
Mr Mahama also noted that, under his administration, Traditional authorities are to benefit from fiscal support, this to help them in managing their affairs, including renovation of palaces, and the Dagbon Palace will not be left out.
