Former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has reportedly been taken into custody by national security operatives in Kumasi.
He was arrested on Sunday, June 29, following a formal request by the operatives to meet with him.
He was subsequently conveyed in a pickup vehicle to the Ashanti Regional Police Command, where he currently remains in detention.
This latest development comes in the wake of a previous operation on 15 May during which security personnel sought to recover state-owned vehicles allegedly held under his control, though Jumah was absent at the time.
Sources close to the investigation reveal that Mr. Jumah is facing scrutiny over allegations of financial impropriety, including the unauthorised sale of assets and questionable vehicle acquisitions during his tenure at GIHOC Distilleries.
