Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston says he expected Mohammed Kudus to make a 'bigger' leap to Chelsea ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.
Kudus is on the verge of completing a £55 million move to the North London side as he calls time on his spell at West Ham United.
Among the interested clubs in the Black Stars star boy was also Tottenham's rival club, Chelsea, which never advanced talks.
Speaking to Accra-based Sporty FM, Kingston acknowledged the Tottenham move as a good one but feels it could have been better for the Ghanaian.
"Mohammed Kudus moving from West Ham to Tottenham is one step in his career," he said.
"But I was expecting him to move to a bigger club like Chelsea.
If concluded, Kudus will become Ghana’s most expensive signing of all time, surpassing the €55m Arsenal paid for Thomas Partey from Atlético Madrid in 2020.
