Delta’s steadfast commitment to life-giving blood drives made the airline the No. 1 corporate blood drive sponsor of the American Red Cross for the eighth consecutive year, with employees, retirees and customers contributing a record 16,178 units of blood in fiscal year 2025 (FYE 6/30).
Giving blood is essential, and the need remains high as blood supply is often at its lowest during the summer months. Throughout the year, Delta expanded its blood drive program, adding community blood drives and partnering with its sponsorship team for joint community drives with Atlanta, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City and Seattle Delta-sponsored sports teams.
Delta also joined forces with historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in partnership with the Red Cross by sponsoring the HBCU Ambassador program which consists of 137 blood drives at 38 HBCUs across the country during the year.
“We are deeply grateful to Delta for its longstanding partnership as a blood drive sponsor,” said Chris Hrouda, President of Biomedical Services for the American Red Cross.

Delta’s continued leadership as our top blood drive sponsor for the eighth consecutive year plays a vital role in ensuring patients in need receive lifesaving blood. Thank you for standing with us to help save countless lives.”
Throughout the 2025 fiscal year, Delta hosted 386 blood drives across 79 locations and added two new drive locations, expanding support in the communities where employees live, work and serve.
“Thank you to everyone who makes a difference by rolling up their sleeves to give blood and help save lives all year long – and a special thanks goes out to our blood drive program leaders for their commitment to making every drive and every unit count,” said Tad Hutcheson, Managing Director – Community Engagement.
In addition to blood donations, Delta is an Annual Disaster Giving Program member at the $1 million level, supporting the Red Cross in advance of disasters. The Red Cross is Delta's longest standing not-for-profit partnership dating back to 1941 when Delta people donated and carried blood in WWII.
