A multi-faceted project undertaken by the Rotary Club of Ho has ignited hope and aspirations in the Gbi Kledzo community of the Hohoe Municipality in the Volta Region.

The project costed at about GH₵606,721 including rehabilitation of 3-unit block, provision of a well-stocked library, information, communication, and technology laboratory, a sanitary facility, and a water reservoir for the Precious Pearls Preparatory School.

A solar-powered mechanised borehole was also commissioned for use by the community members of Gbi-Kledzo

The Project Coordinator for the Rotary Club of Ho, Simon Fafali Awumey said the project was made possible through a partnership with the Rotary Club of Northern Allegheny and the Rotary Foundation in collaboration with the House of Hope Ministry, Ghana, and the USA.

He expressed appreciation to all who played roles in ensuring the success of the project which was hatched about two years ago, stressing the Rotary Club’s enthusiasm to continue impacting the less privileged in society.

The President of the Rotary Club of Ho, Maxwell Wallahs Affram, said the facilities were provided in quest to fulfill the Club’s aim of improving water, sanitation, and hygiene situations across the world.

He shared hope in the initiative contributing to training learners in the rural community to be on par with their peers in the urban areas and fully prepared for the future.

“The library and the ICT lab are slot pulsa to help bring up the children in a digital world and improve their learning and academic work. We do all these to enhance the livelihood of the deprived in society”, he said.

The Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive, Prosper Kumi, lauded the Rotary Club on the initiative to provide some of life’s essential needs to the Kledzo community adding that “anybody who gives water, gives life.”

He asserted that the educational facilities would contribute to producing a well-informed human resource which will advance the development agenda of the municipality.

He posited that Hohoe is the best investment destination in the Volta Region, considering its geographical location, "strategically positioned between the North and southern belts."

The Founder of House of Hope Ministries, Madam Beth Earich, said that all children in the community will have access to the library which would play a role in expanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ, adding that as the residents become literate , they would be able to read the Bible and have a better understanding of the Gospel and the Christian Religion.

“We thought that we could fill the place with beautiful books so that the community can come here and read or they can send the books home and read. This will help open their horizon and make them love reading”, she said.
