The South African High Commission in Ghana is cautioning fans who want to be at next year’s World Cup Tournament of visa fraudsters.
The High Commission says it has received information about some persons engaged in visa racketeering and providing false documents to support applications.
The High Commission’s First Secretary in Charge of Immigration and Civic Affairs, Tshamano Gerson Muti, said applicants must deal directly with the mission to avoid been swindled.
Mr Muti was speaking to Joy News about the mission’s preparations ahead of the football tournament in South Africa.
“No one other than an advocate or an immigration practitioner may conduct the trade of representing another person in the processing of visa application,” Mr Muti stressed.
“Everybody must come, even the traveling agents that we have meetings with them.”
He also debunked suggestions that the mission will issue a specific number of visas to applicants from Ghana.
