As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) moves closer to its presidential primaries, Bosomtwe Member of Parliament and former Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, is making a case for leadership built on integrity, inspiration, and service to the nation.
In a statement following a breakfast meeting with former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and fellow aspirants at Nima, Dr Adutwum outlined his vision for a campaign defined by ideas, discipline, and mutual respect.
“Leadership, to me, is about integrity, inspiration, and the collective pursuit of national prosperity — not personal ambition,” he said.
Dr Adutwum’s tone reflects a desire to elevate political discourse within the party, encouraging aspirants and supporters alike to focus on Ghana’s development rather than divisive rhetoric.
He described the NPP’s upcoming leadership contest as an opportunity to demonstrate the party’s democratic maturity and ideological strength.
“The enduring strength of the NPP lies in our ability to disagree without discord and contest without contempt,” he observed.
The former Education Minister, who earned national and international recognition for his reformist approach to transforming Ghana’s education system, said the same principles of innovation, collaboration, and discipline would guide his vision for national leadership.
“The NPP has always stood for discipline, progress, and tradition. Let us uphold these values as we work together toward victory in 2028 and beyond,” he added.
Dr Adutwum’s campaign, which he has branded under #TheAdutwumFactor, seeks to present a forward-looking, unifying vision rooted in service, competence, and character.
