Crystal Palace forward Eddie Nketiah has reignited conversations about a potential switch to the Ghana national team after expressing deep admiration for the country during the Best of Africa Awards in London.
The 25-year-old striker, who received an award for his growing impact in the community, used his acceptance speech to celebrate Ghana’s talent and cultural influence, describing the nation as one of Africa’s most exceptional.
“Ghana has a lot of amazing people, and we have some talented artists, talented football players, and talented people in general. I just think they are a bit better than a lot of African countries,” Nketiah said.
His remarks have fueled further speculation about a possible nationality switch, though the England international remains noncommittal.
Nketiah has represented the Three Lions at senior level but remains a topic of interest in Ghana ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Eddie Nketiah has played 5 games for Crystal Palace in the Premier League this season, scoring just a goal.
