Some aggrieved customers of NDK Finance are demanding the release of their locked-up funds several years after the government’s financial sector cleanup exercise.
The customers say despite assurances from the company, they are yet to receive the full amounts owed to them.
One affected customer, Mr. Buabasah, told Joy Business that while a portion of his investment has been paid, a significant amount remains unpaid.
“It is very sad that my money is still locked-up years after the financial sector clean up. I don’t have any money now. A big portion of my money is still locked up. This is unfair to us the investors”, he lamented.
Another customer, who preferred to remain anonymous, said the delay has made it difficult to pay her children’s school fees and meet other basic needs.
“I put all my money into NDK Finance. Now I have lost everything. I can’t even pay for the school fees of my children. Times are very difficult for us. We pray the government comes to our aid”, she appealed.
According to the customers, several attempts to seek updates from NDK Finance have yielded no positive response.
When Joy Business contacted authorities at NDK Finance, they explained that the delay is due to unresolved issues with the Bank of Ghana, following the financial sector cleanup exercise.
Many of the affected investors are calling on the central bank and the Ministry of Finance to intervene and help recover their funds.
