Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on party faithful to support government appointees to effectively deliver their mandate and position of the party for victory in the 2028 general elections.
He explained that assisting appointees to perform effectively would create opportunities for the party’s victory in future elections and recognise supporters contributions.
Mr Nketiah made the call during his thank you tour to the Bono Region, where he visited constituencies including Wenchi, Tain, Jaman North, and South, Berekum East and West, Dormaa West, Central and East, as well as the Sunyani East and West constituencies.
The tour was ro engage stakeholders and party faithful at several events to strengthen the party’s relationship with the people.
Mr Nketiah urged supporters to give the government some time, noting that more opportunities were being created to ensure that others would also have the chance to serve in government.
He indicated that available positions were limited and called on faithful supporters to exercise patience and wait for their turn of appointments.
Mr Nketiah encouraged the supporters to continue working diligently to attract the attention of party leadership, rather than sabotaging the appointees, and assured them that they would be recognised for appointments when the time was due.
He urged them to uphold the values of unity and togetherness for the progress of the party, stressing that serving well was a way of writing one’s own testimonial, which would open doors for future opportunities in government.
Mr Nketiah also assured the chiefs and people of the various communities of the government’s commitment to addressing their challenges, adding that the government had already begun tackling some of the issues.
Some Members of Parliament, as well as Municipal and District Chief Executives, highlighted development projects underway in their respective areas, particularly in road infrastructure, the economy and education.
