The 1999 year group of Sunyani Senior High School (SUSEC), known as SOSA ’99, has officially launched the SUSEC Year of Return 2027 as part of activities marking its annual get-together.
The event, held in Sunyani over the weekend, was under the theme “Celebrating the Past, Reconnecting the Future.”
The launch also served as a fundraising platform to mobilise support for the construction of an ultra-modern clinic to improve healthcare delivery for the thousands of students and members of the surrounding community.
Former Deputy Attorney-General under the New Patriotic Party's government and Chairman of the Occasion, Lawyer Alfred Tuah Yeboah, an alumnus of SUSEC, used the opportunity to urge all old students of the school to rally behind the project.
He emphasised the importance of quality healthcare on school campuses and the collective responsibility of alumni to give back.
In a show of commitment, Lawyer Tuah Yeboah made a personal donation of GH¢5,000 towards the project.
Additional support came from Mr Emmanuel Obeng Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of OBMOH Plus Limited, who donated GH¢10,000, and Mr Ransford Antwi, CEO of Suncity Imperial Lodge, who contributed GH¢5,000.
Commending the organisers, Mr Antwi described the unity, vision, and strong bond among members of SOSA ’99 as admirable and inspiring. He expressed confidence that other SUSEC year groups would join the initiative with both financial support and innovative ideas.
“I have massive respect for our brothers and sisters for their vision and strong bond. The sense of friendship and genuine affection among them is beautiful, and I am proud of them. Other year groups will surely support this initiative. See you again in 2027,” he said.
The SUSEC Year of Return 2027 is expected to bring together alumni from across the globe to reconnect, contribute to the school’s development, and celebrate the enduring legacy of Sunyani Senior High School.
