The District Police Commander, DSP Asante, stated that more than 60 houses under construction have been targeted and destroyed by the suspects during nighttime attacks.
Speaking to Adom News, some of the affected residents said they were working on their sites when the land guards, led by Ekow Egyir, and the 12 impostors dressed as National Security officers stormed the area, armed with guns and handcuffs, and began demolishing their buildings without any official orders.
According to the residents, one of the victims quickly rushed to the Gomoa Ojobi District Police Command, prompting the swift arrest of the suspects.
All 14 individuals are currently in custody at the Gomoa Ojobi and Millennium City Police Command for further investigations.
Meanwhile, the Nananom of Gomoa Akotsi have appealed to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to ensure that the arrested land guards are prosecuted and jailed to serve as a deterrent to others.
