Fuel loading operations at the Tema Port have resumed following the restoration of operational systems that had earlier disrupted activities at the facility.
The development was announced by the Group Chief Executive Officer of GOIL PLC, Edward Bawa, in a brief update shared on social media on Monday, March 9.
According to him, the system challenges that had temporarily affected fuel loading have now been resolved, allowing normal operations to continue.
Prior to the restoration, GOIL and Star Oil Ghana had raised concerns about possible fuel supply difficulties, linking the situation to issues with the Integrated Customs Management System.
However, Ghana Link Network Services Ltd. dismissed those claims, stating that the ICUMS platform was not responsible for the supply disruptions reported by some Oil Marketing Companies.
The firm described reports suggesting that the system had been down since March 6 as “false, misleading, and wholly without basis”.
GOIL later confirmed that the situation had been resolved and expressed appreciation to stakeholders and customers for their patience during the disruption.
“System restored. Loading has resumed. Thank you for your patience and support,” the company said in its update.
The resumption of loading operations means that petroleum products can now be dispatched again from the port to distribution outlets nationwide.
GOIL, one of the country’s leading indigenous oil marketing firms, operates a network of depots and service stations that supply fuel to businesses and consumers across Ghana.
