Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, inspected ongoing inner-road construction projects at Daban New Site and Atasemanso communities, pledging significant improvements to road infrastructure across the metropolis.

The 8-kilometre inner-road development project is expected to enhance mobility and ease transportation challenges faced by residents.

The Kumasi mayor acknowledged that many inner-city roads remain in poor condition, making movement difficult for motorists and residents.

He stressed that the ongoing projects demonstrate the government’s commitment to transforming the city’s infrastructure.

According to Mr. Boadi, the road improvement programme forms part of a broader agenda to modernise Kumasi and improve the living conditions of residents.

“Kumasi residents can expect significant improvements in road infrastructure and other key facilities within the metropolis before the end of the President’s four-year mandate,” he assured.

The mayor was accompanied by officials from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and engineers from the Ashanti Regional Directorate of Urban Roads.

The Ashanti Regional Director of Urban Roads, Nayem Ibrahim, who is serving as the project consultant, disclosed that the works will involve the asphalting of the 8-kilometre stretch of inner roads at Daban New Site and Atasemanso.

He explained that the road project is significant in linking the Santasi and Melcom roads, a development expected to improve traffic flow and accessibility for residents and commuters.

In a related development, the mayor also inspected the Duase New Site inner roads in the Manhyia North Constituency.

He instructed engineers and technical officers to commence the construction of drainage systems ahead of the full road construction to address flooding and improve the durability of the road infrastructure.
