The Hudai Foundation, in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), has organised a special Iftar event for 1,000 orphaned children at the Ghana National Mosque.
The event was designed to share the spiritual atmosphere and blessings of Ramadan with vulnerable children and strengthen humanitarian ties between Ghana and Türkiye.
The gathering brought together several dignitaries, including Hüseyin Güngör, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Ghana; Remzi Şeker of the Hudai Foundation; and Ali Kurt, TİKA Coordinator in Ghana. Turkish and Ghanaian volunteers and community members also participated in the event.
The Iftar programme, held in the courtyard of the Ghana National Mosque in Accra, began with recitations from the Holy Quran and prayers.
Addressing the gathering before the breaking of the fast, Ambassador Hüseyin Güngör highlighted the importance of Türkiye’s humanitarian engagement in Ghana and the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
“Today, we are not just sharing a meal; we are strengthening the unshakable bonds of brotherhood between our countries,” he said.
TİKA Coordinator Ali Kurt also spoke about the agency’s humanitarian and development projects in Ghana, emphasising its continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.
Hudai Foundation representative Remzi Şeker noted that the foundation’s Ramadan outreach activities across Ghana are ongoing and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to celebrate the sacred month with orphaned children.
Following the Iftar meal, the children received various gifts ahead of the upcoming Eid al‑Fitr celebrations, bringing joy and excitement to the young participants.
The event, organised through the joint efforts of Turkish and Ghanaian volunteers, ended in a warm and joyful atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of compassion and solidarity that defines the holy month of Ramadan.
