Caretaker Coach of Hearts of Oak, Nii Noi Thompson has called on his employers to hand him the coaching job on a permanent basis.
The former Bechem Chelsea and Liberty Professionals coach led the Phobians to their 21st league trophy last Sunday, after taking over from Serbian, Kosta Papic.
Coach Thompson told Joy Sports that he was ready for the huge challenge and will make the Phobians, a force to reckon with both in Ghana and on the African continent.
“I will build a formidable team when given a full time contract. I won the league for Hearts even though the odds were against them,” said Thompson.
The Management of the team has commenced their search for a new coach to steer the technical direction of the team for the next season. Various coaches including Steve Pollack of King Faisal and Bashiru Hayford of Kessben FC have all been penciled down for the job.
However, Steve Polack has dispelled rumors linking him with a move to Hearts, but has refused to extend his stay at King Faisal.
Polack maintained that reports linking him with a move to the Accra-based side are false.
“I am a coach and I am proud of what I have done for the past two years in Ghana, but it is never true that I have expressed interest in joining Hearts,” Polack told Ghanasocccernet.com
Hearts have qualified to play in the continental competition next season and are bent on making a mark.
They have already started bringing on board some experience players to strengthen the team, but will need the nod of a coach in order to embark on such recruitments.
