Boa Amponsem SHS has continued its steady rise in the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), powering into the One-Eighth Stage after a commanding victory over Berekum SHS and Bolgatanga Girls’ SHS at the SMS Auditorium.
The Central Region school finished the contest on 55 points, leaving Berekum SHS on 30 points and Bolgatanga Girls’ SHS on 29 points.
The victory adds another chapter to Boa Amponsem’s growing national presence. In 2023, the school came agonisingly close to the One-Eighth Stage, finishing level with OLA Girls’ SHS, Ho on 23 points in the Preliminary Stage.

After the tie persisted, OLA Girls won the decisive tiebreaker to advance, leaving Boa Amponsem as a runner-up.
Boa Amponsem SHS returned to the national championship in 2026 with even greater authority. The school had already announced its intentions during the Central Regional Qualifiers, winning its contest with an impressive 62 points, a 29-point margin over Oguaa SHTS.

That strong qualifying form translated into the national stage at the SMS Auditorium. Boa Amponsem controlled Contest 32 and finished 25 points ahead of Berekum, with Bolgatanga Girls just one point further behind.
