Islamic SHS, Kumasi has pulled off a stunning late turnaround to book its place in the NSMQ 2026 One-Eighth Stage, leaving Tamale Islamic Science SHS heartbroken.
It was neck-and-neck from the start, with both Islamic schools locked on 20 points after Round One.
Islamic SHS, Kumasi gradually took control, but Tamale Islamic Science SHS refused to surrender.
Their flawless Round Four performance saw them answer every True or False question correctly and leap into the lead.

With Tamale sitting on 40 points and Islamic SHS, Kumasi on 39, the momentum appeared to have shifted.
Then came the final round. Islamic SHS, Kumasi struck first with the opening riddle and held their nerve to finish on 45 points, stealing the contest by five points.

Tamale Islamic Science SHS finished on 40, while Armed Forces SHTS ended on 30. The ticket is Kumasi’s. Tamale’s NSMQ journey ends here.
