The start date for the 8-Nations WAFU Tournament would be delayed by some weeks, organizers have confirmed.
The tournament to be hosted by Nigeria was billed to have commenced on August 15 to 29. But a new date for the kick off would be confirmed later.
Ghana’s senior women's team is one of the selected sides for the competition. The Black Queens are placed in Group B together with Sierra Leone, Mali and Cecafa’s representative, Tanzania.
Hosts, Nigeria, Guinea, the Gambia and Senegal are all holed in Group B.
