Kelvin-Prince Boateng admits he has a fight on his hands in a bid to become a regular Ghana international.
The former Germany youth international is seeking to switch his international allegiance to Ghana after failing to break into the Germany set up but knows he must fix himself at club level to stand any chance.
Boateng has returned to Tottenham Hotspurs after a loan spell at Borrussia Dortmund with first team chances limited but acknowledges it must improve to stand any chance of getting into Milovan Rajevac’s side.
“My decision to play for Ghana is irrevocable. I am done with Germany for now, my international future lies with Ghana, it is there I would like to progress,” he said.
“But I think I will be invited by the manager if only I do well in the premiership with Tottenham. Every manager wants the best for his team, so as long as I do well in the premiership, I will definitely earn my first cap.”
Boateng says he has been in touch with the GFA already about the switch and is positive it will go well.
“I have been in touch with the Ghana FA and the responses are positive. Once I am cleared by FIFA, and most importantly be in good condition, I will be seen in the Ghana colours.”
