Ghanaian players continue to impress in the various European Leagues as Matthew Amoah and Asamoah Gyan found the back of the net for their clubs ahead of Ghana's 2010 World Cup qualifier against Sudan.
The goals would boost the confidence of the strikers as Ghana seeks to win Sunday's game at home.
Amoah, 28, made his league return after suffering an ankle injury that kept him out of action for three weeks.
He scored the second goal for NAC Breda in their 2-0 win against rivals, Heerenveen in the Dutch top-flight; with the goal being the second by Amoah in the league.
In France, a late goal by Asamoah Gyan helped Rennes to share a point with Lens.
Rennes were down 1-2, but Gyan on the 90th minute mark, scored the equalizer to end the match 2-2.
Both players would join their colleagues in camp before their game against Sudan at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra on 6, September, 2009.
In the English Barclaycard Premiership, John Paintsil scored an own goal in English League as Fulham were defeated 0-2 by Aston Villa.
The Ghanaian right-back put Ashley Young's corner kick into his own net in the first half of the match.
It was Paintsil's first goal in his three years in the English league, but one that he would quickly forget.
Elsewhere in Spain, Derek Boateng made his La Liga debut for Getafe in their 4-1 against Racing Santander.
The former FC Cologne midfielder was a 65th minute substitute for Getafe; becoming the first Ghanaian to play in the La Liga since Yaw Acheampong's days at Real Soceiadad in the late 1990’s.
