Team Ghana (Montreal) made up of Ghanaian youth residing in Montreal is in the finals of the Play-offs of a Soccer Tournament underway at Kent Park in Montreal, Canada.
The schedule is as follows:
Date: September 5, 2009,
Team Ghana (Montreal) Vrs Rwanda.
Venue: Kent Park, Montreal
Time: 4:00 P.M.
Representatives of the High Commissions of Ghana and Rwada would be there to see their teams play in the finals. Also present would be elders in the Ghanaian community in Montreal including Mr. Jonathan Addo, Nana Kwaten Amaning, Mr. Yakubu Amadu, Mr. Jacob Marmon, Mr. Gerald Arhin among others.
Other competitions Team Ghana (Montreal) is currently engaged in include: Montreal African League and Knock-out competitions. Team Ghana (Montreal) is currently the first on the African League table and are also in the semi-finals of the knock-out competition.
On Sunday, September 6, 2009 from 3:00 P.M, there would be a reception for Team Ghana (Montreal) players at 911 Jean-Talon West, Montreal. Many thanks to Nana Kwaten Amaning, Mr. Jonathan Addo, Mr. Jacob Marmon and many others in the community for making this possible.
Organizers are urging the community to come out and cheer up Team Ghana (Montreal) to yet another victory and to get the youth involved in productive activities other than being on the street.
Ghana-Canada House is also inviting the entire Ghanaian community to a Community Forum under the theme: Our Community & Our Needs, scheduled for September 19, 2009 at 911 Jean-Talon West, Montreal.
