Stephen Appiah is urging Ghanaian fans to crank up the noise level at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra on Sunday against Sudan.
The Black Stars captain feels fan participation will be crucial in ensuring Ghana gets all three points in the group D qualifier.
“Support will be an important factor in how everything goes,” Appiah tells KickOffGhana.com. “They have to come in their numbers and cheer till the final minute and we will do our part of the bargain by winning and see what happens elsewhere.”
Appiah has looked trimmer and sharper in training and has moved around a lot better than in the win over Benin and the friendly against Zambia.
“I have been through a punishing schedule lately and that has resulted in this. I am feeling better than I have in a long time.”
There is no guarantee that Appiah will start on Sunday, but he is not bothered. “The most important thing is we win. Whether I start or play is secondary.”
