Nana Akufo-Addo today congratulated the Black Stars on their stellar performance on Sunday which resulted in a 2-0 victory over Sudan’s Desert Hawks and qualified them to play in the 2010 World Cup to be held in South Africa.
A statement issued in Accra which described Nana Addo as a keen lifelong sports fan, quotes him as saying “The Black Stars’ triumph on Sunday demonstrated the tremendous accomplishments within our reach when we draw together our individual talents in pursuit of a collective goal.
“The skill, hard work and team spirit that went into this victory was a great inspiration for me and, I hope, all Ghanaians and showed us all the huge potential that our nation, and particularly our youth, possess.
The statement on a note of optimism, added that; “This of course is just the beginning and so in the coming months as the Black Stars continue to train and compete for the World Cup we wish them the very best of luck, and we hope they never falter in their bid to become the champions we all believe they can be.”
