The national female championship, the Black Queens are preparing for the West African Football Union (WAFU) women football championship, which was suspended indefinitely, will now begin November 2, the organizers have said.
The maiden edition of the football competition among the women national teams of the West African sub-region, which was earlier slated for the month of August, had to be suspended by the organizers due to lack of fund.
WAFU is said to have written football federations across the sub-region to convey the new date for the championship.
The technical team of the Black Queens is expected to call the team back to camp to start training.
The Queens were not at their best in the last women championship but it is expected that they would be able to put up a great show in the forthcoming competition.
Ghana is placed in Group B together with Sierra Leone, Mali and Tanzania. Hosts Nigeria, Guinea, the Gambia and Senegal are in Group B.
