Ghana defender, John Mensah is hoping for an African sensation at next year's World Cup in South Africa.
Mensah helped Ghana qualify for the 2010 finals and is looking forward to the trip down South.
The defender stands the chance of playing in a second successive World Cup for Ghana after making his debut at the 2006 finals.
"I am looking forward to the World Cup, I think an African side could be sensational, maybe Ghana or Ivory Coast," he he told skysports.com.
But even before next summer's finals, Mensah, who is loan at Sunderland is seeking to make the best of his move to England.
The Ghanaian defender joined the Black Cats on a season-long loan from French giants Lyon, says he is happy to be playing in the Premiership.
Though he's made his league bow after coming on as a substitute against Hull City, Mensah is still waiting to start his first game for Sunderland and is very bullish about his move to the Premier League.
"This is a dream come true, and I am here and hopefully Sunderland will do well," Mensah told skysports.com.
"I will enhance my reputation in this country. I am not known here like in France or Italy," he said.
"I think I will do well and I want to get the trust of the gaffer here, I want to please him and hope I will get an opportunity.
"I think I will do well this season, and then we can see what happens at the end."
