Ghana forward Jordan Ayew is happy with the Black Stars work rate after defeating Togo in a friendly.
Debutant Bernard Mensah’s 35th minute drive from 30-yards beat goalkeeper Cedric Mensah in post for Belgian coach Tom Sainfiet’s Hawks to separate both sides in a keenly contested international encounter in Accra on Monday.
"I think the guys did well. It was not easy playing because of the weather. We did well,” Jordan said of the win over Togo.
“We are preparing and on progress for Sunday’s game against Mauritius in the Nations Cup qualifiers,” he added.
With his brother Andre and Kwesi Appiah ruled out of Sunday’s game due to injury, Jordan has no fears of probably struggling against the Mauritians.
“Well, this is Mauritius and we have the quality to replace them [injured players] and win the game on Sunday,” said the Lorient frontman.
Both Ghana and Togo used the friendly to assess themselves ahead of their respective assignments this weekend.
