As part of its commitment to deepen ties with the communities in which it operates, Vodafone Ghana, has donated GHS25,000 to support the Ga Community in Greater Accra in the celebration of this year’s Homowo Festival.
The communities which include Nungua, Teshie, La, Osu and Ga-Mashie have each been presented with a cash amount of GHS5,000.
Additionally, Vodafone will organize its flagship community health screening initiative, Healthfest, in two Ga communities, sponsor the regatta and musical concert in Osu and support the boxing tournament in Ga-Mashie.
Commenting, Agnes Emefa Essah, Marketing Director of Vodafone Ghana said:
“Vodafone is proud to support this year’s Homowo Festival. As a company, we constantly seek to develop and nurture fruitful relationships within the communities in which we operate. To further strengthen our connection, we will continue to hold impactful programmes in the Ga communities in order to improve the lives of the people. We want to also take the opportunity to wish the Chiefs and people of Greater Accra, a very happy celebration”.
Vodafone’s support is testament to the great relationship the company has developed with the Chiefs and people of Accra, dating as far back as 2008 when it entered into the telecommunications sector.
Majority of its employees are residents in the Greater Accra region.
